As the ongoing rift between Prince William and Prince Harry continues to stir tension among senior members of the Royal family, a Royal expert has shed light on how their late mother, Princess Diana, might have reacted to the situation.
The expert suggests that things could have unfolded differently had the beloved Princess of Wales, who was deeply involved in her sons’ lives until her tragic death in a car accident on August 31, 1997, still been alive.

the brothers initially uniting in their grief for several decades following that fateful day, nearly 30 years later, they appear more distant than ever, reports the Mirror.
Much of the strain stems from Prince Harry’s decision in 2020 to step back from Royal duties with his wife Meghan Markle and relocate to the United States to raise their young family.
However, it wasn’t just this move that caused friction. While residing in the USA, Harry and Meghan made a series of damning allegations against the Royal family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, in Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’, and in their own Netflix documentary series.

Evidently stung by many of the accusations, Prince William took umbrage with his brother and seemingly severed ties with him. Since then, the pair have only been seen together on a few occasions, with the atmosphere noticeably chilly.
Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond has shared her poignant thoughts with OK!, suggesting that Princess Diana would have been disheartened by the rift between her sons, stating: “If Diana were still here, I doubt if the rift between her sons would ever have got so deep.
“She would have found a way to make them understand one another and resolve their differences. And that’s another great sadness about the tragedy that led to her death.”
Jennie also expressed her belief that Diana would have empathised with Prince Harry’s desire for privacy, as she herself often sought refuge from the intense public scrutiny. “I think she would also have done her best to support Harry and Meghan and would have had a great deal of sympathy with their decision to make a life outside the Palace walls,” Jennie added, noting: “After all….she had paved the way for that.”
