Pharm-D Degree (Doctor of Pharmacy) Subjects, Jobs, Career, Salary, Scope, Eligibility, Further Study Options
Pharmacy is one of the oldest profession of the world. Few years before B-Pharmacy was the best degree in the field of Pharmacy in Pakistan but now Pharm D has replaced B-Pharmacy. Pharm D degree has given more popularity to pharmacy fields in students. All the students of FSc Pre Medical want to add the prefix of doctor with their name, so MBBS and BDS were their first two choices. This new degree has given them an opportunity to fulfill their desire of becoming doctor. In foreign countries a pharmacist has more role in healthcare than an MBBS/MD doctor. I have personally noticed that Pharm D degree has changed the social status of Pharmacists. Now they are given more respect in society than before.

Career & Scope (I am in Demand I am a Pharm D)
D Pharm degree holder can get a job in any Pharmaceutical company. Pakistan has a booming Pharmacy industry. We are also exporting medicines to many countries. A Pharmacist can open his own medical store. He can also get job in medical store. One of my class fellow of FSc Pre Medical, who got the degree of B-Pharmacy, is not only working in a Pharmaceutical company but he has also got the agencies of many pharmaceutical company in Lahore and earning more than a million rupees per month without doing MBA. So how much you can earn in this filed is largely depends upon your personal skills, potential and creativity. After some experience you may also start your own pharmaceutical company. The margin of profit in this field is beyond your expectation.

I personally recommend all ambitious students to go for MBA marketing after Pharm D or any B-Pharmacy. Don’t work like a dull person in your factory rather try to understand the working of all its departments for rapid career growth. If you have no investment to start a pharmaceutical company then you may also enter in the field of marketing. Believe me the sky is the limit for you in this field.

In government sector their is also a great scope for you in Public hospitals. Almost all hospitals of public and private sectors hire the services of qualified pharmacists. Government grants grade 17 to Pharm-D degree holders.

If you are a research minded person then its an ideal field for you. Dr Salim ul Zaman Saddiqui just examined one medicine of Hakim Ajmal for high blood pressure i.e Ajmalin 54 and invented the first ever allopathic medicine for high blood pressure. Still there are large number of local herbs about which world is not aware. You may not only get fame but also unlimited money with research on local herbs and medicines. You may contact us for further guidance

You have also great scope in international pharmaceutical companies. MBA marketing and little bit local experience will help you a lot in this regard.
