Nursing is one of the most popular and paying professions all over the world. It is respectable healthcare profession specially suited for females. No hospital or clinic can be operated without nurses. Nurse work in almost all departments of hospitals,from labor room to ICU.A nurse plays an important role in the recovery process of patients. This noble profession will give you 100% job satisfaction. A nurse performs variety of functions related to patient care and record keeping. She dispense medicines, assist doctors, keeps an eye on patient’s progress and operate medical machinery. It is a profession of noble souls who like to face challenges and ready to work in odd hours. Males can also enter in this profession but females are preferred every where. Students are given monthly stipend in most of the nursing schools. A nurse serves the patients without any discrimination and follows the directions of physician. Florance Nightingale was first professional nurse, she established first nursing school in Uk at Saint Thomas hospital in 1854. But history of nursing is very old. Muslim females used to care the injured soldiers during war 1400 year ago. Pakistan Nursing Council PNS regularizes the nursing education in Pakistan. Pakistan Nursing Council was established in 1948. Four examination boards in all provinces of Pakistan work under PNC.
Career & Scope
There is great shortage of qualified nurses in Pakistan so finding a job in this field is not a tough task. Now a days Middle East and European countries are also recruiting qualified and trained nurses from Pakistan. Although majority of nurse work in hospitals but there is a great demand of private nurses too. You may earn extra, working in this position. A nurse can find job in private and public hospitals, private clinics, day care centers, old age homes, child protection bureau, orphanages, military hospitals, nursing homes, health department and in many other healthcare related departments. Army gives Lieutenant rank to BSc nursing. Nurses are given 16 grade in government job. Midwifery course is most recommended course for nurses. It will increase employment and earning opportunities for you.
Eligibility Criteria
The age of candidates should be of 17 to 25 years at the time of applying and in certain special cases relaxation in upper age limit up to 15 years can be granted.
For 2 Years LPN-Matriculation with science subjects with 50% to 60% marks.
For BSc-Fsc pre medical with 55% marks.
Applicant should be unmarried or without encumbrances.
Documents Required
1-Two attested copies of all educational certificates.
2-Candidates serving in any government departments will have to produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their concern department.
3-Attested copy of domicile.
4-Photocopies of computerized national identity card or form B.
5-Duly attested recent color photographs.
