ALL ABOUT Â LAW GRADUATEÂ ASSESSMENT TEST (LAW-GAT)
Pakistan Bar Council has decided to make it mandatory for every law graduate to pass law graduate assessment test (Law-Gat) before applying for enrollment as advocate in Bar Councils. This decision was taken to ensure the entry of only competent individuals in the legal profession. Pakistan Bar Council has assigned NTS to take law graduate assessment test (Law-Gat). Now only those candidates will be enrolled as an advocate in Bar Councils who will qualify the Law-Gat conducted by NTS. Law-Gat will ensure proper scrutiny and evaluation of graduates who are willing to join legal profession.
Eligibility Criteria
Only those candidates can appear in this test, who have passed the LLB examination from a HEC and Pakistan Bar Council recognized university with minimum 17 years of education (LLB or 5 Year BA-LLB)
Terms and Conditions
Only LL.b degree holders can appear in Law-Gat .
Candidates will have to submit LL.B degree with attested copies of detailed transcript/marks sheet of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year LLB examination.
All candidates can appear in Law-Gat maximum for three times. NTS will conduct the Law-Gat thrice in a year.
Students awaiting results can not appear in the test.
Candidates will have to obtain at least fifty percent marks to qualify for enrollment as advocate.
Candidates will have to fulfill the other requirements of Pakistan Bar Council for being enrolled as an advocate.
How to Apply
You can down load the online application form and online deposit slip from the official website of NTS. Attach recent photograph and copy of national identity card with the application form.
All candidates will have to deposit test fee of Rs.3000/-
Test fee can be deposited i online branches of Allied Bank Limited, United Bank Limited, Habib Bank Limited and Muslim Commercial Bank.
All applicants are advised to send their dully filled application form along with original bank deposit slip to NTS Headquarter, 96, Street No.4, Sector H-8/1, Islamabad.
Send your applications through courier or registered post as applications submitted by hand will not be accepted.
NTS will not refund or transfer the test fee.
Candidates can not bring mobile phone and electronic devices in the test center premises.
