Reema’s Love For Books
Reema, the famous film actress of Pakistan visited the book fair in Lahore organized by Pak China friendship center. At the occasion she said”Books are our best friends and cause of success in life and we can promote healthy activities in society by loving books. Reema also bought some books from different stalls for showing her love for books. She also gave autographs to her fans. Now a days Reema is residing in United State of America after her marriage with an American national Pakistani doctor.

Technical Subjects will not be Taught in Government Schools
Education department Punjab has decided not to teach optional technical subjects in government schools. This decision will affect 1.5 million students. According to media reports wood works, electric works and plumber works were taught in 6 to 8 classes as optional subjects and special workshops were established in government schools to taught these technical subjects. These subjects were very helpful for students in their practical life. But now Punjab education department has taken this facility back.

HEC Raid On Sub Campuses of Various Universities In Lahore
Special committee of HEC inspected five universities of Lahore. According to media reports HEC had received many complaints about the universities being run under public private partnership in Lahore. To investigates the complaints HEC special team inspected the local campuses of  Baha ud din Zakrya University, PIMSAT, University of Gujrat, University of Sargodha and Federal Urdu University Lahore. Team gathered the information from administration of these universities and inspected the local campuses of these institutions. This special raid by HEC has raised many questions about the legal position of theses sub campuses of prominent universities of Pakistan.

15th Annual Convocation of University of Central Punjab
15th annual convocation of University of Central Punjab was conducted yesterday at expo center Lahore. Governor Punjab Ch Sarwer was the chief guest at the occasion. Majority of top position holders were females. Addressing at the occasion Governor Punjab Ch M Sarwer said” More than seven million Pakistani children can not go to schools due to poverty, out of which 4 million are females but now government has doubled its educational budget to address this grave problem.” He added”Position holders should remember that their real responsibility starts now, they should work hard in practical life to serve the nation”Governor also appreciated the services of Mian Amir Mehmood for the promotion of education in the province. At the end he distributed shields and medals among the position holder students.

Book Lovers Award
Vice Chancellor Punjab University Professor Dr Kamran Mujahid distributed the book lovers award among the top ten students who utilized the library in the best way during the last session. The awards were distributed on world books and copy right day in Al Razi Hall. According to chief librarian Ch M Hanif library memberships have increased several times due to the book lovers awards.

PM’s Youth Skill Development Program
71555 applications have been received for PM’s Youth Skill Development Program. 350 centers were established for this program in the country. List of selected candidates will be issued on 7 May, 2014. While the classes will start from 12th May, 2014.
