Complete Guide About How to Get a Government Job in Pakistan through PCS, ETEA, Departmental & NTS Recruitment Tests
Every Pakistani student wants to get a government job but they do not know that how to get a government job through PCS, departmental & NTS recruitment tests and what short term and long term strategy they should adopt for this purpose. Here in this article we shall guide you in this regard. Students first two ways to get government jobs in Pakistan are CSS and PMS exams, which we shall not discuss in this article as we have written number of articles on this topic in our competitive exam category.
Other then CSS and PMS some departments take their own tests for recruitment like ASF, PIA, NBP etc and some departments assign this task to NTS. For NTS recruitment tests and interviews we have written separate articles. In some departments Public Service Commission perform this duty. This test is called PCS. For departmental recruitment tests and PCS exams you must improve your general knowledge and English, Mathematics and Computer skill. General knowledge is a vast term.
How to Get a Govt Job Through PCS, Departmental & NTS Recruitment Tests
Here in Pakistan you need to improve your knowledge about that specific department in which you have applied, Pakistan, Islam, Urdu, General Science, Current Affair, Abbreviations, History and world general knowledge. Usually multiple choice questions are asked in written test. In PCS exams interview is also taken by Public Service Commissions. While in departmental recruitment tests and NTS test interviews are taken by concern department. So PCS exams are considered more transparent. You must not miss any recruitment test by FPSC, PPSC( Provincial Public Service Commissions) as here you have more chances.
Now the question arises that how you can get information about new announced posts. Mostly PCS posts are advertized in daily Dawn, Jang and Nawaiwaqat. But it would be better to visit PPSC, FPSC and studysolutions.pk regularly. Generally recruitment on non gazetted posts is made by NTS and departments.
Long Term Preparation Strategy For PCS, NTS and Departmental Recruitment Tests
Students who are academically good just need to improve their general knowledge. For this purpose they must read newspapers and gk books regularly. Try to read English newspapers and current affairs magazines. Use internet for this purpose. Try to adopt book reading (specially general knowledge books) as your hobby. Improve your general English grammar and vocabulary. Those students whose English is good must go for competitive exam and they must start their preparation from Matriculation. During this period you must attempt all PCS, NTS and departmental recruitment tests. Each test will increase your experience and reduce your fear for such tests. In case of success, you must also appear in CSS and PCS exams. if not possible for you then appear in all departmental promotion exams. Those candidates who will take getting government job as a mission never fail in getting their dream job as even in one year continue planned preparation can make you unbeatable. But alas majority of our students start preparation after submitting application form.
Short Term Preparation Strategy For PCS, NTS and Departmental Recruitment Tests
Short term strategy is for those candidates who start their preparation after submitting the application form. Such students can buy guide book for preparation as for all posts many publishers publish books like Dogar sons, Jahangir book depot, Majeed Sons, Carvan publishers etc. One book which is sufficient for preparation of all posts is “Who is Who and What is What”. Divide the pages of the book on the days available for preparation and follow this time table strictly. During this time read the newspapers daily too. Prepare at least intermediate level English grammar. Many students leave preparation after written test which is totally a wrong strategy as interview is equally important. So students of this category at least not leave preparation after written test.
