1-General Mirza Aslam Baig was the one and only Chief of army staff who was given the Tamgha-e-Jamhuriat for defending the democracy in the country.

24-General Abdul Hamid Khan was the first VCOAS of Pakistan army.
25-General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has worked as last VCOAS till now.

 

26- General Ziauddin Butt was also appointed as COAS on 12th October, 1999 by PM Nawaz Sharif, but he is not counted in the list of army chiefs due to coup by Pervez Musharraf.
27-General Qamar Javed Bajwa is the 10th COAS of Pak army.
28-General Zia-ul-Haq was the first COAS who imposed martial law (3rd Martial law) on 5th July, 1977.
29-Yahya Khan declared second martial law in Pakistan on 25th March, 1969.
30-Gen Frank Messervy was the first Commander-in-Chief (C-N-C) of Pak army.

40-Gen Zia ul Haq remained COAS for more than 12 years.
