Attention Law Students-Notice For LLB Students By PBC

Attention Law Students-Notice For LLB Students By Pakistan Bar Council
Pakistan Bar Council is the largest and sole regulatory authority of legal education in the country under Legal Practitioners & Bar Council Act 1973. PBC has recently issued and notice for law students who have taken admission in sub campuses of various universities. As per notice published in local newspapers PBC recognized 12 universities from 2006 onward the condition that they will give legal education only in their main campuses. These universities were allowed to admit only 50 students in an academic session and they were not authorized to impart legal education in their sub campuses.

Now PBC ha noticed that University of Sargodha, Government College University, Faisalabad, Hazara University, The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad and Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, Karachi have opened their sub-campuses/affiliated law colleges in different cities or they have granted admissions to more than fifty student in an academic session, which is a clear cut violation of PBC rules and conditionalities. These institutes are also violating the terms of their own undertaking which they had submitted to PBC at the time of their recognition. PBC reserves the e right to de-recognize such universities for playing with the future and career of law students. In this regard PBC has suspended the cognition of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, Karachi for violating the terms of recognition.

All such law students who have got admission in any sub-campus/affiliated law college of above mentioned law breaking universities, are hereby informed that their legal degree will not be recognized by PBC for the purpose of enrollment as a lawyer in bar council. Law students are therefore warned that they must get admission only in main campuses of  above-said universities. Above mentioned universities are also warned to close their sub-campuses and affiliated law colleges with immediate effect otherwise their recognition will be cancelled.

All those universities who were recognized by PBC before 2006 also can not grant affiliation to a law college out side their territorial jurisdiction. Same disciplinary action can be taken against such universities for violating their territorial jurisdiction. You may read the details in the newspaper ad cutting below this post. 1. Dear
i want to draw your attention toward a grave problem about law students in District Layyah . LLB is

offered in BZU sub campus Layyah in distance learning education programme with heavy amount of fees. More

importantly the strength of students in one session is above 100 and advance booking is also offered and

they got 70 admissions without starting any session . Quality of Education in llb is zero . there are

lots of violations in Bahadur Campus Layyah of Baha Uddin Zakariya University Multan. Staff is not

eligible at all and there is no generator facility in whole univeristy and teachers also works on daily

    wages more precisely .

    Thank You
