B.COM or Bachelor of Commerce is one of the most favorite undergraduate program among students. Basically it is related with Accounts and commerce. BCom degree holders are hired for managing the accounts and ledgers of a business. They keep a close eye on financial condition of the company/firm and strive to keep it stable. During B.COM a student is taught about all global principles of managing accounts and bookkeeping. No business can progress without keeping the proper record of its all transactions that’s why B.Com degree holders can get job in any field/business. Specially banks and other similar financial organs prefer BCom degree holders on simple graduates for entry level jobs.

If you are weak in science subjects and do not like arts subjects due to narrow scope then its the right choice for you to enter in commerce stream. Commerce is the field for those students who have interest in accounting and business. If you are weak in Mathematics then it s not the field for you as good numerical ability is required for entrance in the field of Commerce. Now BZU AIOU, VU and some other distance learning universities are also offering BCom program.
Eligibility For B.Com
Candidates who have passed their Inter Exam F.A. FSc, ICS, I.Com, D.Com, A Levels (3 Subjects) or any other equivalent examination are eligible for admission in B.Com. Commerce students are given preference.

B.Com has great scope as almost all the businesses need to hire accounts specialist or financial manager. In initial stage you need some practical experience, so accept the offer with low salary too. As after only six months of experience you will get better offers.
B.Com holders can get the license of tax practitioner in Pakistan. So if you must get membership of local tax bar council. It will make you a self employed person. Join some senior tax practitioner as junior for some time for getting the practical training. After little exposure of this field you can open your own tax consultancy firm. There is also a great demand of tutor of accounting, statistics and other commerce subjects.
