D.COM DIPLOMA IN COMMERCE

Commerce has become most favorite stream of student now a days as there is great demand of commerce graduates in the job market. After matriculation you can join commerce line through two routes i.e I.COM and D.COM. D.COM is the abbreviation of Diploma in Commerce.Its a two year diploma and Board of Technical Education of each province take the exams of D.COM. D.COM is a more comprehensive course than I.COM.

It is the best entry route for B.C.S, BA, B.COM, BS and BBA. DCOM builds your foundation in Economics, Banking, Information Technology, Commerce, Accounting and Business Mathematics. Its a professional qualification. Students who want to become commerce professional should take admission in D.Com. Part one and part two exams are taken separately by Provincial Boards of Technical Education. Only regular students can appear in D.COM exams. Total marks of each part of D.COM are 600.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have passed matriculation or any other equivalent exam such as O-Level. Both arts and science students are eligible to apply for admission in D.Com. But you should check the affiliation status of technical college before applying.

Admission Procedure
After matriculation result technical colleges advertise admissions in national newspapers. If you have good marks in matriculation or any equivalent exam then you must apply in public technical colleges. Public colleges grant admission on merit basis. Some public colleges also take test and interview before granting admission. But student with low marks in matric can also join private institutes. In this case just buy the prospectus and after filling the admission form, which is enclosed with prospectus, submit your admission form with college fee and following documents.
Attested copy of matric/O-Level result card.
Attested copy of form B issued by Nadra.
Attested copy of father/guardian’s identity card.
Attested copy of character certificate issued by principal of your last school.
Required number of recent passport size colored photographs.
O-Level candidates will have to submit the attested copy of equivalence certificate issued by IBCC.

Career and Scope
As D.COM its self a complete vocational diploma so you can get junior level job immediately after completion of diploma. English and Urdu typing and short hand is also taught in DCOM due to which diploma holders can get the job of stenographer and typist in government offices too. Students of DCOM should try to improve their typing and short hand speed as it is the key to find a reasonable job after the completion of diploma. So it is suggested that you should continue your typing and short hand practice after the completion of diploma until you find a job of your choice.

All government and private institutes take typing and short hand test before recruiting stenographer, typist, assistants, and personal secretory. In spite of simple FA students should get admission in some job oriented course like D.COM, I.COM and DAE after matriculation. Females who want to get any secretarial level job should get this diploma. But after finding the job, you must continue your studies as private candidate or through distance learning. Otherwise your speed of your career growth will be very slow.
